Old Bear Brewery started Brewing at the Old White Bear pub in Cross Hills in 1993. The brewery was moved in Jan 2005 to bigger larger premises near the centre of Keighley to enable us to increase production and add new beers to our range.

Since moving we have produced three new beers to our range, Bruin a dark mild, Estivater a pale refreshing ale and Black Mari'a a stout, all three of which are very popular additions. These 3 new beers compliment our range giving a good choice to suit almost every palate.

We are a 10 barrel plant with a 1 barrel set up for making specials to customer’s orders. We only use Yorkshire malt and whole hops to give that true northern real ale flavour.

During 2006 we have also started doing a bit of bottling of 5 of our beers. These beers are available at a few select off licenses in the area. For more details go to the Old Bear bar on this website and follow the link.

In July 2006 the Old Bear team increased to three people. Chris Butterfield is now the driver.

In November we got a new van because the old one was struggling to keep up with the extra deliveries we are getting.
